This vehicle is obviously corroded badly. Merely attempting to loosen the fasteners would likely break a substantial percentage of them. In these situations, PB Blaster greatly facilitates removing these corroded fasteners and greatly reduces the likelihood of breaking them during removal. To use PB Blaster, simply saturate the troubled area before working. PB Blaster's unique capillary action allows PB to wick itself into the tightest cavities to break loose the surface tension of frozen and corroded fasteners and parts. You can actually see PB Blaster penetrating into voids, threads, seams and cavities, as air bubbles that previously occupied these voids is replaced with PB Blaster as it wicks in. For very troubled areas, you can tap the component lightly and respray with PB Blaster to hasten results.
Not all corroded fasteners are old. This fastener was on Ho's G4 Discovery the day it was driven off the dealer's lot. Look under your new vehicle and you may be surprised. PB Blaster greatly facilitates working with such corroded fasteners.
Even if your vehicle is not rotted away, there are many fasteners that are known problem areas for corrosion. The steel wheel lug nuts on all Land Rovers are more susceptible to corrosion than the alloy lug nuts because they are open to water intrusion. Water wicks its way into the stud threads and causes corrosion. Steel wheel lug nuts that have not been removed for several years are often very difficult to remove. The problem is exacerbated by overtightening the lug nuts. Spraying PB Blaster onto the lug nuts greatly facilitates removal. PB Blaster does not evaporate and remains on the stud threads to lubricate and protect against further corrosion.
PB Blaster is also an excellent cleaner for corroded fasteners, as it penetrates through and loosens the surface rust on fasteners. The roll cage fasteners on all NAS Defenders are known corrosion points. The fasteners are difficult to remove and are usually severely corroded. PB Blaster works better than anything else we have tried for cleaning the removed fasteners before reassembly with anti-seize lubricant.
The Defender door hinge bolt on the left and the Disco2 brake rotor set screw on the right are commonly bonded in place from corrosion.
Removing these fasteners usually requires a POZIDRIV #4 bit and the judicious application of an impact driver, as they are typically frozen in place with corroded threads. The process is greatly facilitated by spraying the frozen fasteners with PB Blaster. Capillary action will wick PB Blaster into the tightest seams and crevices and the light shock load delivered to the fasteners with the impact driver will allow the PB Blaster to wick even better, freeing these problem fasteners easily.
For vehicle fasteners that have suffered from corrosion problems, we use and recommend a light application of anti-seize lubricant. Anti-seize compound will prevent the threads from bonding from corrosion. Anti-seize is magic. We anti-seize all of our previously-corroded components to facilitate future removal and field repairs.
PB Blaster is also very useful for penetrating and dissolving caked-on carbon fouling on weapons like this Heckler & Koch HK91. While excellent weapons, HK91s are not without their faults. The roller-delayed blowback principle employed by the HK91 and numerous other Heckler & Koch long guns dates back to the Wehrmacht's StG45(M), which was Mauser's attempt to create a weapon that was both lighter in weight and simpler to produce in mass quantities than the StG44, the world's first assault rifle. The roller-delayed blowback system is world-famous for its reliability under harsh environmental conditions and temperature extremes. While the roller-delayed blowback principle is very reliable, it is also a very "dirty" action. Roller-delayed blowback weapons do not provide for primary extraction of the fired cartridge case and require a fluted chamber to prevent the action from ripping case heads off the fired cases. The fluted chamber required by this operating system blows carbon fouling against the breech face and into the action body. PB Blaster soaks through this carbon fouling and dissolves it very well, greatly facilitating weapon cleaning. PB Blaster also does not have the noxious ammonia odor of typical bore cleaners. The obvious danger with using PB Blaster around weapons is that it penetrates into almost anything and everything, including primers. PB Blaster will penetrate your primers and deactivate them. Yes, PB Blaster penetrates that well. If you use PB Blaster on your weapons, keep it away from your ammunition.
Another obvious danger with PB Blaster on weapons concerns wood-stocked weapons like this Heckler & Koch P9S. This P9S is fitted with walnut target stocks.
The walnut target stocks are porous by nature and susceptible to contamination by PB Blaster. Keep the PB Blaster away from your wooden stocks, as it will penetrate into the into wood and quickly ruin it.

We could not disagree more. Trail trucks, if anything, require more washing and waxing than street cars if they are to be maintained properly.

We purchased this Snap-on IM5100 Impact Wrench second-hand, and have rejuvenated with Air Tool Conditioner, covered it with a new vinyl boot made for the Snap-on IM6500 Impact Wrench, and fitted a Hogue HANDALL Small Black Tool Grip sleeve to make this impact easier to handle and more comfortable to use. This IM5100 now performs and feels like a new impact wrench. It has since given us several years of hard use and is still going strong.

Defender cargo door hinges are prone to corrosion and must be lubricated to prevent failure. Oiling these hinges is better than nothing but grease is better. To grease these hinges would normally require disassembly but not with Corrosion Stop Protectant. Just spray Corrosion Stop Protectant into the hinge. The solvent carrier will evaporate and leave grease inside the hinge.
However inconvenient it may be, at least the cargo door hinges can be disassembled. The Defender's front door hinges cannot be disassembled. Oiling these hinges is better than nothing but the oil is quickly washed away by the first rain. Spraying Corrosion Stop Protectant into these hinges is basically the only way to grease them. Think of all of the parts that should be lubricated by grease but are inaccessible to regular greasing because they cannot be disassembled, and you will see how handy Corrosion Stop Protectant is. Many ideas will occur to you.

This Smith & Wesson Military & Police Revolver is as beautiful as it is functional as a sidearm. While revolvers have advantages over automatic pistols that cannot be denied, revolvers are susceptible to contamination from dirt and dust and thus are not really suitable for use in severe conditions. When forced into service in severe conditions, revolvers are best lubricated with a "dry" lubricant like The Dry Lube (except in the bore; never use a Teflon lubricant inside a firearm's bore). When the revolver's internals are kept "dry" yet properly lubricated, the revolver is much more likely to perform properly in harsh conditions.
