Curt Manufacturing 3/8" x 20' Grade 70 Chain

Recovery chains like this 3/8" x 20' Grade 70 Chain With Clevis Grab Hooks from Curt Manufacturing are a necessity on the trail. With the chain, one can use his Hi-Lift Jack as a manual winch. Also, one can use the chain for rigging around rocks that would otherwise abrade or cut a recovery strap. Recovery chains are a necessity, but can be difficult to store and use without a bag to hold them. These chains weigh over 30 lbs. and require a bag strong enough to hold them without falling apart.

Bucket Boss Pro GateMouth Jr. Utility Bag

The Pro GateMouth Jr. is up to the task and easily holds two 3/8" x 20' choker chains.

Bucket Boss Pro GateMouth Jr. Utility Bag

Here is one way to organize the Pro GateMouth to support hand winching. This Pro GateMouth Jr. is shown holding a Curt Manufacturing 3/8" Choker Chain, PMI Heavyweight Recovery Gloves, two ARB 3/4" Bow Shackles, and a Fix-It Kit for the Hi-Lift Jack. All fit easily into the Pro GateMouth Jr. and there is still room for plenty more. With these heavy items, the issue becomes more of weight than of capacity.

Bucket Boss Pro GateMouth Jr. Utility Bag

There are many other ways to organize one's recovery gear. This Pro GateMouth Jr. is shown holding a Curt Manufacturing 3/8" Choker Chain, PMI Lightweight Recovery Gloves, Superwinch Heavy Duty Pulley Block and Receiver Shackle Bracket, and three ARB 3/4" Bow Shackles.

Bucket Boss Pro GateMouth Jr. Utility Bag

The Pro GateMouth Jr. is also ideal for holding recovery straps like the Expeditionware Recovery Strap and protecting it from abrasion as well the sun's degrading UV rays. The combinations of what recovery gear can be organized with the Pro Gatemouth Jr. is almost endless. For example, one can have one Pro GateMouth Jr. holding heavier items such as chains, shackles, etc. and another Pro GateMouth holding lighter items such as gloves and straps and other similar items. Both Pro GateMouth Jr. bags can be stored inside a Pelican Protector Case and so on. Your options are limited only by your imagination.

Bucket Boss Tool Roll

Recovery tools are but part of the total tool picture. We also recommend carrying the tools necessary to repair your vehicle when it suffers the inevitable break-downs or vehicle carnage. The Tool Roll is ideal for carrying the various tools one requires to repair his vehicle in the field.

Bucket Boss Tool Roll Bucket Boss Tool Roll Bucket Boss Tool Roll

The Tool Roll features heavy-duty construction throughout. The partitions between the pockets are reinforced against degradation with heavy use. All of the edges are covered and reinforced to prevent fraying.

Bucket Boss Tool Roll

When rolled open, the Tool Roll measures 28" wide and 14" deep. The Tool Roll is large enough and its pockets are varied enough to hold a plethora of different tools. For example, the smallest pockets at the left are shown holding 1/4" extensions and a bit holder. Larger pockets can hold items like the Ullman Devices Telescoping Powercap Magnetic Pick-Up Tool. The largest pockets are large enough to hold various pliers such as the KNIPEX Cobra Pliers, Snap-on Electronic Service and Retaining Ring Pliers, and Irwin Vise-Grips shown for illustration purposes. Even handles as large as the Snap-on Soft Grip Ratcheting Screwdriver Handle System fit easily into the Tool Roll's larger pockets. Wrenches of course fit easily, even wrenches with half-moon or S shapes. The Snap-on 3/8" Comfort Handle Ratchet on the far right is more than 13" long, yet fits easily into into the Tool Roll's dimensions.

Bucket Boss Tool Roll

The Tool Roll features three pockets for carrying sockets or other small items. These pockets are held closed with Velcro to prevent them from opening inadvertently.

Bucket Boss Tool Roll

To close the Tool Roll, simply roll it up.

Bucket Boss Tool Roll

The Tool Roll features two long nylon straps and buckles. The straps are adjustable for length and permit the user to make his Tool Roll as small or large as his tools will allow. The carry handle permits easy handling of heavy tools.

Bucket Boss Tool Rolls

The Tool Roll will fit into your tool box, the Pro GateMouth Utility Bag, Pro GateMouth Jr. Utility Bag, or a Pelican Protector Case.

Bucket Boss Tool Roll

Keep your Tool Roll handy in your trail kit, as you will eventually need it in the field. It's only a matter of time. Having the Tool Roll means not having to put your tools on the dirty ground and having your tools organized for easy access and to account for missing tools.

Bucket Boss Wrench Roll

Another very useful organization and storage device for your tools is the Wrench Roll. Unlike the Tool Roll, the Wrench roll is designed specifically for wrenches, ratchets, ratchet extensions, and other relatively long and thin tools. Tools like pliers will not fit. The Wrench Roll's capacity is immense. Shown above are 13 different Snap-on Flank Drive Plus combination wrenches, from 1/4" to 1", and a Snap-on 3/8" drive Comfort Handle Ratchet. The Flank Drive Plus wrenches are longer than standard wrenches to match the additional turning power these unique and innovative wrenches can deliver, and the Comfort Handle Ratchet is more than 13" long, and yet all of these long tools fit easily into the Wrench Roll's pockets. The Wrench Roll is 27" wide side to side, 10" tall at the left, and 22" deep at the right. The smallest pocket on the left is 3" deep, and the largest pocket on the right is 14" deep. Though the open ends of these wrenches are protruding from the mouths of the Wrench Roll's pockets for illustration purposes, the tools can go even deeper into the pockets to prevent them from rubbing and clanging against each other.

Bucket Boss Wrench Roll

Even wrenches larger than 1" in size easily fit into the Wrench Roll, as the Wrench Roll's larger pockets will accommodate 32mm box wrenches. The larger handles on Comfort Handle Ratchets will also easily fit into the pockets. You can carry almost every wrench required to repair or service your vehicle. A 30mm wrench for your radius arm mounting nuts; a 9/8" wrench for your crankcase drain plug; a 15/16" wrench for your axle mounting bolts; a 19mm wrench for your Disco1's Old Man Emu Shocks; a 18mm wrench for your Disco2's swaybars and rear shock bolts; a 17mm wrench for your Defender's drive flange bolts and JATE Rings, a 9/16" for the driveshafts, a 13mm wrench for your Shock Tower Securing Rings; a 1/4" ratcheting box wrench for turning screwdriver bits in confined spaces; the list goes on and on. All of these wrench sizes are well within the capacity of the Wrench Roll.

Snap-on & Matco Wrenches

To maximize the utility of your field tool wrenches, we recommend you acquire some ratcheting combination wrenches such as the Snap-on and Matco versions shown above. We find these wrenches to be very handy and easy to use. The box ends feature a 15-degree bend for knuckle clearance and reaching around obstructions. The box ends have reversible ratcheting mechanisms with five-degree reset, so they can be used like ratchets on non-countersunk fasteners in confined spaces, and the need for deep sockets is oftentimes eliminated. The open ends are also unique. The Snap-on Flank Drive Plus and Matco Opti-Torque designs deliver far more turning power than parallel-jaw designs. These professional-quality wrenches are also longer and provide greater leverage than wrenches from cheaper makes. As general-purpose wrenches, they are difficult to beat.

Snap-on Wrenches

We recommend keeping your Tool Rolls and Wrench Rolls with your vehicle and using them whenever you work on your vehicle. As you work on your vehicle more and more, you will become more skilled and find the need for some specialty wrenches that standard combination wrenches or ratcheting combination wrenches cannot do or can barely do. All of these wrenches fit 14mm fasteners, yet perform various tasks better than standard combination wrenches or can access some fasteners that standard wrenches cannot. Add these specialty wrenches to your Tool Roll and Wrench Roll as the need arises and keep them with your vehicle. You will be better prepared when you suffer a break-down or some vehicle carnage in the field. Keeping these tools neat, organized, and accessible in your vehicle is easy with the right organization tools.

Bucket Boss Wrench Roll

Like the other items from Bucket Boss, the Wrench Roll features heavy nylon construction and reinforced seams and edges. The Wrench Roll is designed to carry heavy tools and built to take it.

Bucket Boss Wrench Roll

The Wrench Roll features three eyelets on the top flap to permit the user to hang the Wrench Roll during use. If your tools are organized correctly, the pockets will also let you know if you are missing a tool. It is very easy to lose tools when wrenching in the field at night, or lend out tools to others and then forget about them. An empty pocket will remind you that a tool is missing before you roll up the Wrench Roll.

Bucket Boss Wrench Roll

The three eyelets are reinforced with brass grommets to prevent wear and tear to the Wrench Roll.

Bucket Boss Wrench Roll

When not in use, the Wrench Roll's top flap can be flapped down to protect the tools even further, and the entire Wrench Roll can be rolled up into a cylindrical shape for storage. In this configuration, the tools encased within are protected from rubbing and clanging against each other, and there is no wasted space within the Wrench Roll. The Wrench Roll shown above is the same one as in the previous photos, and holds 13 Flank Drive Plus combination wrenches from 1/4" to 1" and a 3/8" drive Comfort Handle Ratchet. The Wrench Roll can be cinched closed in a shoelace fashion with the two integral ties.
