Continental Divide

I've read about cyclists and motorcyclists traversing the length of the Continental Divide. Mexico to Canada or vice versa. Apparently this was first set by moutnain bikers. Any one done this in a Land Rover ?

The "Great Divide" expedition has been conducted by LRNA on two occasions. Once in 1989 and again in 2000. The vehicle route was pioneered by Tom Collins of Camel Trophy fame. In 1991, Land Rover sold a "Great Divide" edition of the Range Rover Classic.

"1989: Land Rover North America conducts The Great Divide Expedition, the first off-pavement north-south crossing of Colorado's Continental Divide by motor vehicle, to promote the U.S. Forest Service's Tread Lightly! program, a national effort to encourage environmentally responsible and safe off-highway driving"

Scott,

That is a very cool link as I have the old VHS tape distributed by RRNA.

What is the source for your link as I'm afraid my tape has died and I am looking for a way to replace it.

Thanks,

Jaime

I have one of the original tapes too, along with the Camel Trophy series. A legacy of me standing wide-eyed in the Land Rover dealerships as a much younger man.

The video is hosted on Google video. I do not know the individual who uploaded it.

Thanks.
