indeed by far the most incredibly bizarre vehicle purchase i've ever made. very smooth and quick transaction/trade. thanks to anthony the previous owner of the G4 who is now the 04 disco's new owner.

yes... uptown and indeed the MKIII is admirable. the BMW 4.4 engine sounds and performs great. little details around the car shows evidence of trail use. would be great if there was a way to track down where this vehicle was used in the 2003 G4 challenge. i was told that it was first registered in Aug 2004 to a southern california LR employee. so definately... an interesting and intriguing history behind this G4.

i think i'm overwhelmed and still have to sort out the situation. it's a mess... LOL... 3 weeks ago i was the happy owner of an 04 disco and now i have sitting next to me... a MKIII(which i thought would not happen this fast but "hopeful" in a few years), an official "Land Rover Special Vehicles", and 1 of 8 US spec G4 Tangiers Orange. i don't know what to say or think right now...

could have been this one in NY?

traveltoad August 13th, 2006 08:21 AM

that would be cool... but it is still my daily driver and i need the rear seats for kids.

i'm still looking for a place to put the 706's detachable face.

Nice :)

JSQ August 14th, 2006 03:28 PM

Man I'm still reeling from this purchase.

I was baffled by john's statement from the other thread to the effect of "it's replacement will blow it (han's 04 D2) away"

now I know.

Han's going to be one of those guys who now has to suffer all the idiots at RR coming up and bugging you about your truck.
lol.

johnlee August 14th, 2006 03:49 PM

I think a Yaesu 857 would be nice inside that G4.

hanchung August 14th, 2006 04:51 PM

man... i stopped paying my SCLR dues long time ago. i doubt i would attend RR again. pismo perhaps would be nice since you are not constricted to staying in line in a narrow trail w/o escape. too many damn trucks in those trips.

yeah, john... i just can't find a nice discreet place to put the 706. there's a pull down compartment on the ceiling console just above the rear view mirror... designed for sunglass storage. i heard people use that space to intall their radio's detachable face. but the 706 is too wide. so we'll see.

man... the MKIII is so nice... :D
