The Explorer was the second Rolex I owned. A very cool watch and one I wish I still had. It was a 1987 model and they are considered pretty rare by todays standards. The date window is deleted, but is overcome by the coolness of the watch. I have the red/black GMTII now and have since 1992. It's got the same bracelet as the Sub of that vintage with the weird end link and expansion clasp with flip-lock. A tough watch and my favorite Rolex in the line.

If I had another it would be a Seadweller, but that's just me. If I allowed myself a third it would be a stainless DateJust with white dial and stainless hands and markers, on a brown alligator strap with Rolex crown deployment clasp. Classic, rich, elegant, and sporty all at the same time.
