We started out with a late night flight to Miami:

Catching a little shut-eye in Miami before we board our flight to San Jose:

Making the transition from air travel to moto travel:

Finally, the bikes are packed and we are ready:

The "black beauty" would be our steed for the next week. Evan had asked us to carry the flower with us for the week so we would not forget about him... so it is present in many of our photos.

After a short ride we arrived at El Cafetal.

Before dinner we all spent a little time making final adjustments to the bikes (levers and gear organization mostly).

Then we walked the grounds a bit:

Morning light and breakfast:

Dinner preparations began in the outdoor kitchen (my crappy little camera had a had time with the light):

The result was fantastic Sea Bass plate!

Gabrielle rode on the back. We had a 950 and 990 both 2-up. A solo rider on a 690 was with us for the first couple days.

On our way to the coast we stopped to look at some of the local inhabitants:

Once we arrived at the coast we walked down to the water (and back up) to check things out.

And on our way to the Quepos / Manuel Antonio area for lunch:

Beating back the jungle:

The gate was locked... but we walked down anyway to see the grounds:

So we walked...

and walked...

and walked...

and walked...

but it was worth it:

As we turned onto the Peninsula the roads became more interesting...

But there was a bit of traffic:

At the end of the road waiting for the boat launch:

La Paloma was the first of two Eco Lodges on the Peninsula de Osa:

We decided to walk back to the bikes rather than the launch. Because it was raining rather hard the lodge loaned us some very photogenic umbrellas:

Aaron, that's awesome.

Our next big trip is going to be to Costa Rica and we hope to spend some time at the jungle ecolodges. La Paloma looks nice.

Indeed, just the way we prefer them;

I think i'd rather ford the river, the fall will be shorter;

The 950 Adventure is no lightweight, add a passenger and luggage and it makes things real dicey on the rougher stuff. Aaron rocked, he's a good rider.

We woke up to howler monkeys and a beautiful view;

No ride is complete without a little wrenching;

I love the way the rain forest comes down right to the waterline;

Man, i feel so much safer on my motorcycle. Aaron is digging it though;

This dude was selling coconuts, he'd chop the tops off and stick a straw into them;

Gab thought they needed a little rum, i agree;
