1990 Classic Seat Motor Switch

I have a '90 Classic with a missing drivers seat switch. I've read there is a way to 'hotwire' the connector wire harness connector underneath the seat. In fact, the previous owner has market the terminals on the connector (adjust front and back). I've connected a wire to the positive terminal on the battery and then the other end of the wire to the appropriate post but nothing happens.

What am I missing besides a seat switch?

UPDATE never mind my ground wasn't good. Seat adjustment complete.

Just FYI if you have a "broken" one they usually can be easily fixed by opening them up to see what's wrong.

Also-the switches are actually a Mercedes part-same as the door-mounted early 80's W126 seat switch.

I have the switch mechanism. The MB part. But I lack the housing and pig tail that connects the switch to the motors.

What color interior do you have? Grey? If so, I can send you the housing and connection as I have 2 parts trucks. Although not sure if I have an unbroken cover. Which side do you need?

Sorrel Brown interior. But I'll happily pay you for the housing and connector. Called several parts sources already and they all indicate the part isn't available but through a donor parts truck.
