Dog Training Collars

Any recommendations for dog training collars?

I will be in the market for one soon for my chocolate lab "London".

So far I've only seen the Tri-tronics G3 and Dogtra 3500.

It really comes down to range and how large of a transmitter you're willing to deal with.

Madeline has had the Dogtra 175NCP and 200NCP. That's all she's ever needed.

I really don't see the need for serious range on upland flushers and waterfowl dogs. Maybe on rangie pointing breeds, but Labs and the like should be fine with a minimalist e-collar set up.

Greg,

Congrats on the new pup.

We also recently added a 10 week old female chocolate Lab to our household.

I know this is going to sound very corny, yet, her name is Landie.

It goes along with the theme we used with our male chocolate Lab who is named "Free Range Rover" or Ranger.

We haven't figured out Landie's complete name as yet.

Jaime

Thanks, Jack. That Dogtra 200NCP looks like it would work nicely.

Jaime-My wife picked the name "London" because we were supposed to take a trip to London this year and missed out due to a work issue. I thought it would be short for "London Best" so London it was.

She's only 4 months old but an avid natural retriever and loves the water. In fact, she will pester you to throw things in the pool for her to retrieve.

I'll have to take some new pics but here's some crappy pics of her with my daughter before she was old enough to come home:
