Crap.

Al and I make the right turn onto the 79. There is a CHP in the dirt turn out that's on the corner. He runs over and flags Al and I down.

"Stop right here, turn it off. Get your licenses and registrations out. I'll be right back to tell you what you've done wrong!"

The only thing I could think off was that he had seen me pull along side Jack's truck (in the break down lane, while moving) when we said our fairwells.

He walks over to Al's truck: "Will you please get out of the vehicle and come over here."

He walks over to my driver door where we hand him the requested documents. He then proceeds to read us the riot act about having roof rack lights without covers (which I found out is counted as a moving violation) and no front plates. Meanwhile the f**king Hummer convoy which was trailering an H1 (broken?) at 25mph up the hill and wouldn't pull over until the top of the hill, rolled through the intersection (most of them with roof rack lights without covers) laughing and pointing.

I actually thought this guy was going to give as tickets. Thankfully, he didn't. His parting words to me, while pointing at the truck: "These things really do look better dirty."

I knew that the lights were not legal. But I have never known anyone to actually get pulled over for it. I didn't know it was a moving violation, I thought it was just a fix-it ticket.

It was a pain, but at least the cop didn't keep us too long. I made it home with a total drive time of about 4 hrs.

I got a ticket for my 24K at a sobriety checkpoint in Orange on St. Patrick's Day last year. The ticket was of the "fix-it" variety, however.

Whether or not it's a moving violation or not must depend on the jurisdiction.

AB, what a beautiful place...

Micah and I joined Bill a few years ago, did Sheep Canyon etc...
After Death Valley, Mojave etc... I think AB is just incredible, especially in the spring.
You lucky guys: btw, Ho, why not the LR3?

That place was just great! I'm planning to take the familia there so the little ones can see all the flowers.

Yeah that was the second warning that I've gotten for the lights. I just loved the tone of the guys voice, man talking about flexing his authority...LOL. Oh yeah I've gotten a ticket of all places at lot 6 in LAX for not having a plate in the front of my car before. The feaking meter guy left me a nice suprise when I got back from my car

Ah and of all thinks his last name was Kobayashi must've been a payback from my cousin

Hey Al!

I hope traffic wasn't too bad for you. I flew home with no problems after we split up.

Yeah the drive was much better once we got closer to Orange county. Made it home safe and sound just a bit tired from the traffic. It was great to see the kids rushing to the door when I got home. Wait till your little gets bigger it's a lot of fun

Al
