Difference between TJM T15 bumpers (S1539T vs S1539U)?

I am thinking about getting a new front bumper for my í03 Disco. Iím leaning towards the TJM bumper but not sure of the different between the S1539T and S1539U. It looks like the S1539U accepts the factory bumper-mounted fog lights. I plan on going with the Hella 4000 however.

Any other difference between the two styles?

The U might match up to the 03/04's front grill better than the T will. I don't know for sure though because I've never seen the U in person. I would get the T version.

Have you installed any T's on 2003/2004? I'm wondering if the U would match up better since you highlighted that or if the T looks good.

The T pics on our TJM product page are of an 03. Take a look here:

http://www.expeditionexchange.com/tjm/t15d2.htm

On that page there are both 03/04 and pre-03 D2's with the T bumper fitted.

I have the "T" fitted on my '03. I think it lines up better than the factory bumper.

Clay,

Take a look at this pic:

That pic is of an S1539T bumper on an 03 Disco. Notice the gap between the blade and the front grill. This is because the pre-03 Disco2's had a protruding front grill like so:

I have not seen the S1539U yet, but I'm guessing that gap is no longer there. However, the holes in the blade are there.

Also take a look at the front view of an S1539T:

If the holes are there in the U for the fog lights, then I would think that the Hi-Lift Jack T-slots are gone. I would also think that the blade would have to be reshaped slightly to acommodate the large holes for the 03 fogs. I have not seen the U so I don't know how it looks. It could look awesome. It could be hideous.

But I prefer the S1539T. I think it's really functional and I don't care the factory fogs in any case. I prefer the Hella 4000 action.

Now I understand. I forgot my '03 Disco has fog lights in the bumper. I guess if I go with the T version I have to lose these. But if I go with the U version, I can still have the factory fogs lights as well the Hella lights. But I definitely want the Hi-Lift Jack T-slots.

I talked briefly with TJM directly today but they didn't have any pictures. I will have to ask them about the Hi-Lift Jack T-slots in the new U version.

Also, the gentlemen from TJM spoke very highly about expedition exchange which I of course agreed.

I prefer the S1539T to that.

With the low beams, high beams, IPF 900's, and fog lights in the blade, there's some spider action going on there. I much prefer Aaron's ride:

It looks like the TJM/Hella marker lights have been moved outward and the "T" Highlift jack slot has been removed.
