Thanksgiving shenanigans. . .

4:45am CDT Northside of the city of Chicago. My Belgium Malinois goes off and I mean pissed off like I have never heard her before. I am a wee bit concerned as she tracks to the back door and refuses to budge. Neighbors are going to be pissed soon, as I moved into a 9 unit Condo not too long ago.

Seconds later the knock. Damn. The association is still with the builder so there is really no strict rules for or against dogs in the building. No need to piss anyone off before the association goes to the tenants.

Neighbor: Eric you up?
Me: Yes! Sorry. Cleo is really agi.....
Neighbor: I know there is a guy trying to break into my back door.
Me: For real? No shit?

Open front door and grab wooden bat from closet. (My bird guns are in the suburbs with a friend. And wouldn't be of much use anyway)

Me: I didn't see anyone from my kitchen window.

Bang. Bang. Bang. We go into his place and the back door is being assailed by an apperenbtly drunk guy.

Me: Sounds like a drunk.
Neighbor: Won't go away.

Cops arrive. We buzz them in they come up slowly as it's near the end of the shift and they look beat from the biggest party night of the year. Crazy shit all night on the entire Northside.

Bang. Bang. Bang.

Cops: you know this guy?
Us: No. been here 15 minutes trying to get in.

Sidearms withdrawn cops open door. Drunk pees himself when he sees 2 cops with drawn guns. Literally. All near my back deck. What the fuck did this guy drink all night? Foamy urine on my back porch. Fuckin' A man. Great. Cops not pleased to deal with man covered in urine. Now visibly annoyed with us for calling them here in first place.

No arrest. Cops escort drunk to his house. Inform us that it might be better for them to "disscuss" this with him as oppossed to pressing charges. Neighbor wants arrest. I pull him aside and quietly tell him that "disscuss" is most likely a freindly euphimism if he gets me. He does. Especially when the cop tells him the cuffs are on a little tight for starters. . .

Cops leave. I boil water for the ol' French Press. COFFEEEEEE!

So after the following in one week:

A rogue Pit bull down the street attacking small dogs (good boy. You missed that purse dog over there!)
A guy mugging people with a brick east of me. (Obviously not a proper criminal if he don't have a gun or knife. Freakin amature hour scaring the herd o yuppies)
2 knuckle heads hitting each other over the head with bottles (750ml) 3 blocks north (funny shit. I didn't actually see this but the 4 cruisers and the cops "disscussing" something with him in the alley after spitting on one of them. And the fire truck. and three amb's)

Time to review the shotgun situ. This is a really nice neighborhood. Million dollar homes going up. mostly gentrified. Safe to walk and run in at almost any time in my area.

Times like this I almost kinda miss the white bread northshore subs... Then realize that I have bars within walkin distance and don't need a car anymore to do anything. And the 20 something trixies all over the place. Ahh single females. And did I mention that I live in the neighborhood north of Girls town! Yes good looking lesbians as well. Sorta. Well I know they exist I just haven't seen a nice looking couple yet. But stastically they do exist so it's really a mtter of time... Really!

Happy Turkey Day.

Stay Safe. Sounded cliche till this week.

PS. John and Ho if you get a FFL, I think it's legal to ship to Ill. If I have my dealer attest he doesn't have the model and faxes his FFl to you guys!

Damn, Eric! It sounds like Chicago had a busy night. I love it when the Chicago cops "discuss" things with meatheads. Back in the day, there was a lot less arresting and a whole lot more "discussing".

I didn't realize that you moved. Are you still selling the D90?

Hey Mike! Yup. Back in the city. There's plenty of discussions these days. Just the cops changed the vocabulary a bit! Old School baby. Gets the job done.

Yes, I don''t drive very much at all. Transferring to the Loop so I don't really need a car. I have a project in mind as well. Maybe a MOD 110 or series. A crew cab would be cool. RDS is out for the time being so It's on hold.

Maybe Steve's boss will sell. Who knows. A 109 is a bit big though.

Hope the west coast is cool and your family is doing well!

Eric, the west coast has been great so far. I'm in Toledo, OH for Thanksgiving and its damn cold. I really don't mind the mild weather in Seattle. If I want cold and snow, I can drive there!

You might want to take a pass on my brother's bosses 109. That poor truck hasn't run in several years. I have a feeling that truck would be a major project. If he decides to sell, offer a low price.

I think any series truck would be a major project. All depends on the PO. If you can find a nice one that has been maintained, maybe.

West Coast intrigues me. Hell even Bush Viper moved out there.
