I agree, especially as the illuminated function buttons are green.

Yeah, and the D2 interior isn't as archaic and spartan as the D90 interior so I think it will be a better match.

That "Positive type" color scheme might be a nice match with a color GPS. I still wish Icom had green though.

Hi,

Those thinking about taking the plunge may want to check out the review at eHam.net

To summarise, there doesn't seem to be any accessories - including the remote kit - available anywhere.

Generally positive with a few nits to pick.

Victor

Give it time. I think that unit is in hot demand (relatively speaking) right now. By the time I'm ready for that thing accessories should abound. hehehe

That thread is pretty funny. They're bummed because the 7000 lacks a video-in jack and I'm bummed because the 7000 doesn't have a green screen color.

A thread on AdvRider lead me to this:

Yaesu FTM-10R

Add a Comet SBB-1NMO... could very well be just what the GS needs.

well, not as huge as this bluetooth piece:

The PTT is located in the earpiece. I wonder if you can still use the PTT on the radio, or wire a separate PTT button somewhere on the handle bar.

You can buy a PTT button to be mounted where you want (on the handle bars). There is also a PTT, mic and speaker on the face plate.

There are actually two versions of this radio. Both use the same detachable waterproof control plate. One is a 50w water-resistant the other is a 10w completely waterproof chasis. So for a motorcycle you will get 10w not 50w.

I can't wait to see that new radio. Peep the options for it:

Yaesu has kicked ass on this radio.

The intercom capability would be awesome in a soft top D90 on the highway....

Kenwood radios got a little facelift:

the TM-D710A: Multi Communicator 144/440MHz FM Dual Bander

and

the TM-V71A: Full Dual Bander 144/430MHz Radio
