Another nice one:

Is that a Hell of the North stage of the Tour de France? I don't know. It might just be a cobbled street in one of the mountain villages.

Love that pic.

Remember when the team time trial looked like that rather than this:

The UCI's own rules prohibit purely aerodynamic aids, but apparently they allow glasses integrated into the helmet, helmets that cover the ears and extend way back beyond the rider's head, and shoe covers and long sleeves (even though it's July).

My older nephew got the McRib Experience:

He loved it. At first he couldn't believe it when he was told the McRib was a BBQ rib inside a sandwich. He can't tell the difference between a legit rib and McRib slab, so he was amazed when he pulled off the top bun and there was a slab of "ribs" inside the bread.

My younger nephew ordered the cheeseburger. Boy, did he regret it. Rookie.

You probably won't like it, but you never know. You should try it if only to try it.

I tried it. Once. When I was in high school.

Even the chain bbq for tourists is better than that.

Sorry, John.

You cannot drive more than 5 minutes around the older parts of Kansas City without passing a "legitimate" BBQ joint. Arthur Bryant's, Oklahoma Joe's, Gates, LC's, Rosedale, BB's Lawnside, etc. Sometimes I will drive in a area of town I do not frequent, see smoke billowing out of a chimney, read the name on the side of the wall, search for it online, and find a litany of people who claim this place as their favorite of all the KC BBQ.

Yet even here the McRibs sell like hotcakes. It's part of their charm. Loved by people who know better.

No McRib for me yet, but I'm open to it. I have low expectations.

Don't pass up the chance for Rudy's BBQ if you're in the neighborhood. http://www.rudysbbq.com/page/locations/all

Smoked turkey. Seriously.
