P38 radio question: head unit is on but no sound

I have a '97 P38 with the stock head unit. I was out of the country and was (unexpectedly) unable to drive the car for 4+ months. I was required to jump start the car 3 times over the period of two weeks to get it up and running regularly, and now it starts fine. As expected, the head unit locked and the message "CODE IN" appeared on the display. I was able to locate the security code and enter it. The display indicates that the code was accepted as the correct. The display appears normal (i.e. radio stations, tape, or CD); however, there is no sound. Turning the volume dial either direction does not change the audio in any way.

Any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Check the fuse for the amp. Just a shot. But perhaps jumping fried either the fuse, or the amp itself. Time to get your volt tester out if fuse checking fails.
