Who's new watch?

Who's Rolex Explorer is that on the inside cover ad for EE, and Explorer II with black face on page 53 of the Fall 2007 Overland Journal?

Didn't know anyone at the shop had an EXP, I love mine!

Cheers!

The explorer is probably mine, I haven't looked at the new issue yet to confirm but if it is it'd be a 64' explorer I. It's a great watch, I just got it back from Rolex where I had it cleaned and serviced. Looks like new... almost.

the one on page 53 is an Explorer II. That would be Jonathan's.

Ah, in fact not the SEL bracelet but the older hollow end link, and holes in the lugs. Sweetness!

the original bracelet was the riveted one; however, those didn't last long and were replaced with the style currently on it.

Saw a 1972 Submariner no-date the other day with the folded and riveted link bracelet. It was stretched out with maybe a mm or two in between each link. Looked rough, but so classic at the same time.

John, you enjoying your 14060M?

This is a sweet watch, 5517 Sub for the British army, I really like the nylon band they come with and the welded pins.

The fat hands are a unique touch, and I've never liked the NATO bands (make the watch sit too high on my wrist) but I could learn to love this one...
