Leica AG Sold to Disney

Leica doesn’t come to ease: The success of the Solms based company has stirred desire in the US, leading to a take over of the German camera manufacturer by Disney, Burbank.

What ever happened to that video comparing the Canon to the Leica in terms of features? Anyone have that link?

There's a cool Zeiss ad and a Munich beer ad (Hackerbräu) that's very Deutsche OstAfrika that I saved-however not exactly "Leica" appropriate.

I like this one:

Note how much more dramatic the shadows are than in this famous poster:

Ludwig Hohlwein was a prolific commercial poster artist throughout the teens, 20's, 30's and 40's. Even if you do not recall his name I'm quite sure you've seen his work. Not only did he create numerous commercial, travel, and sports event posters (including the official 1936 Winter Olympics poster), he made numerous famous (or infamous) Nazi propaganda posters. He did not, however, make negative art for the Nazi regime depicting it's enemies as some of his contemporaries did.

Some biographical info:

This Italian site has a good cross section of his work including the evolution of his artistic signature as well as his art:

That work is breathtaking. And as you know, I am a long time student of poster art.

I didn't even know Voigtlander made scopes.

This one is nice too:

Bayerische Flugzeugwerke was the manufacturer of the most beautiful, neatest, and coolest aircraft ever made--the magnificent Bf 109:

Digging those Hohlwein pics.

How do you load those big pics? I suppose they take more bandwidth.
