My own personal "Bat Gun"

A good friend of mine, who is a Captain in the NO Fire Dept., found a Bridger Line Gun with case and all accessories dating back at least 40 to 50 years. He grabbed two and gave me one. I will be posting pictures of this soon. I googled it and found that the company still exists and the product is used by the USCG and other construction and rescue groups. Check out: http://www.navalcompany.com/linegunkit.htm

The kit I have is almost identical to this:

We tested the gun and the 45/70 cartridge is brutally loud but the line and "harpoon" flew straight. Now I want to figure a way to shoot a winch line across vast distances....

This piece of history served the NOFD for years and is a true collectable but also a good example of timeless design.

Pictures to come.
