Ok, so from the beginning.

This was to be Evan's first big road trip. With that in mind I planned "puddles" of trails and camping that could be linked or bypassed depending on how he was doing in the truck. Overall the plan worked well with only two legs being skipped.

We started out Thursday evening with a quick ride out to Calico. In the morning we ate breakfast and played tourist.

From Calico we headed to Zion passing through Baker on the 15.

We drove through Zion (Evan loved the tunnels) and headed towards Boulder, UT.

We stopped for a coffee and hot coco (Thanks Sinuhe).

We had a great dinner in Boulder and found a nice place to camp (thanks again Sinuhe) to watch the show.

It rained off and on through the night and for most of the morning.

It was the only rain for the 10 days and was actually a nice break from the sun. From Boulder we headed towards Moab.

Some of the signs were hard to follow...

Until you read them correctly...

An afternoon of book shopping and swimming followed by a night in a bed had Evan energized and all of us ready to go.

Sounds fun...

In the end, not really that tough. Very scenic, but not difficult.

Then to Mesquite on the 15 at the Nevada border.

That looks like it was a wonderful trip for all of you Aaron!! The pictures sure make me want to drop what I'm doing and hit the road! I'm certain your son will remember the trip fondly as he grows up.
