Steve, you need to get back into a good canyon and you'll remember why.

I miss Utah, too.

Wish I still had the photos from the Alcatraz trip.

Steve, thanks for the memories. You saved the best for last. The D-90 with the igloo, plastic fuel can and sticker collage made me laugh. What a pile. What a rookie.

Any must-see sights in or very close to Cedar City, UT?

I'll be there on business next Tuesday evening through Wednesday late afternoon. I'll have a rental car and might have a few hours to kill.

The Kolob Canyon section of Zion is close, easy and spectacular.

I've spent a lot of time in Utah... But I've never been in Canyon Country with this much snow and a crystal clear blue sky. Winter may be my new favorite season.

I've done quite a bit of multi-day winter backpacking. People think it's crazy but I don't think anything can replace the feeling of being deep in the backcountry during winter.

Like you said... There is no such thing as bad weather, just bad gear.

Beautiful pics

I had a few hours to kill in Cedar City a couple weeks ago but didn't have enough time to visit Zion. Instead I headed up to Cedar Breaks National Monument and played in the snow for a bit. I'll have to upload a few pics later today.
