I see your XZLs and raise you:

(Of course those 8.25s are used, not minty new. Same with the SL6.)

Nice. I'm working on a rifle for my 110 but haven't found what I'm looking for yet.

We did find a source for new (or at least, new old stock) 8.25s but the price was insanely, laughably high.

What is a better fit than this?

Isn't that a metric FAL?

That "clip" is sweet.

I've been trolling the auctions for an L1A1 for a few weeks but so far I've only found one really expensive new-old-stock Australian kit. I'm sure I could find one pretty quickly with a Wanted ad on FALfiles but I'm still waiting on those guys to approve my forums account, weeks later.

I know my eyes are bad but I didn't see any L1A1 in that video, just multiple psychedelic pics of a Queens Guard with an L85. What did I miss?

My 110 cleared customs yesterday. Flying out to Long Beach on Friday to pick it up.

Looking forward to 2014 trips.

Cool. I'd love a Ex-MOD, but the lack of rear doors is kind of a deal breaker for me. My kids love going in the damn Land Rover.

That's awesome, Ben. I think you found a gem.

I wish I could have made it down there and experienced the excitement of Port Day all over again.

The morning flight and loco taxi ride to the grimy port, carrying your luggage and tools as a pedestrian through the truck entrance, the first photos, finding your way through a huge city in a slow and unfamiliar truck... it's tradition now.

Chris, it's so true. The first part of they day was very twilight zone. John was extremely helpful and made fixing a few things very convenient. I would have been in a random parking lot without all of the sweet snap on tools, grease gun, air etc..

Oh god... Standing at port was a disaster. I waited over an hour at a dead end with semi trucks passing by.

The little 2.5 is sweet. I think my gear box is toast though. Even so, I made it home without issue.

I love how you honeymooners write love songs about the 2.5 NA.

ExMOD Rally in Death Valley?

What's not to love? Besides it being very slow and awfully loud?

I'm sure I'll feel differently after I drive it for long trips. Aside from being really loud, I didn't mind the speed limitation.
