NASA pictures

NASA has finally made digital scans of all the pictures taken by the Apollo astronauts available to the public. These are beautiful high resolution scans:

I just got this in my work email, didn't know if you guys already had it.

That's Edward White, the first American to do an EVA, before the Apollo I fire. The watch he's wearing is the same one as in these two pics:

Not to sound morbid, but does anyone know if either Guss or Rogers Speedmasters were recovered after Apolo I?

I've wondered the same thing. I would think that they were, but no real idea.

Check out these:

You can even read the time on the watches. Such is the legibility of the Moon Watch's dial.

Note that this Moon Watch is the older, non-"Professional" type worn by Edward White. There are no guards flanking the crown and pushers, and the horns are sharp.

Very nice. Ho, how's Mia enjoying the new Omega seamaster? Of no interest to anyone I'm sure, I bought a used Seiko Divers 200m quartz with blue and red bezel and black rubber strap while on vacation this past week. Cost me $24 at pawn shop next door to a linens outlet my wife was shopping in at the time. I had the automatic version way back in the late '80's and am just crazy about the look of this thing.

Man, my digital camera at home is broken. Actually my camera software is all buggered up so I am unable to snap a digital pic. I did locate a picture off the internet to show you the same watch....

True, true, I like what I like, that's all I can say. Other than the Seiko is a pretty cheap but beefy little gem.

I tried to get a blue and red bezel insert for my GMTII and was told the black and red was all that would fit. I figured it was a bunch of BS so I never bothered. At least now I have something cool to wear while I have the GMTII re-lumed.

Seiko, Omega, Rolex, Casio - It will all be junk in 1000 years.

However, if medical technology continues it's current rate of progression my kids will still be scarred by looking at Shanes avatar

I'm scarred just looking at the Tom Selleck pic

I used to have a cool Seiko diver's watch - until I was mugged one fine day in St. Thomas by several large Rasta dudes - oh well, I guess I shouldn't have been trying to buy that shit in the first place

Ron, I am ashamed for you.

You should know as well as I that Steve is Old School. It was obviously a Bob Marley influence.

Shit, I am not even sure Snoop was even born during the era Steve speaks of
