dim sun AND Jet Li?

Micah and I have been trying to find some time to go see Hero, his latest flick: sounds pretty good, was the top grossing movie last weekend, uncommon for a kung fu flick.
Can't do it this weekend, taking the kids up to the Sierra's for the end of summer camping trip.

Haven't had good dim sum in awhile: gotta have a big plate of noodles, too, sounds like a great plan.

Oh shit. The DVD's just landed. I'm cracking up here. The jacket to the DVD's reads:

"NO GUN. NO HORSE. NO EQUAL. THE MYSTICAL SERIES THAT BECAME A GLOBAL PHENOMENON.

He is a man of peace in a violent land. He is Kwai Chang Caine, schooled in the spirit-mind-body ways of the Shaolin priesthood by the blind, avuncular Master Po and the stern yet loving Master Kan. Caine speaks softly but hits hard. He lives humbly yet knows great contentment. He is the Old West's most unusual hero. But hero is not a word Caine would use. He would simply say, 'I am a man.'

All the excitement of Caine's adventure is yours to enjoy in this DVD collection featuring the breakthough pilot movie, the 15 season-one episodes and entertaining extras featuring star David Carradine and the series creators. Are you ready to begin? Snatch the pebble from my hand...."

I'll be closing the shop early tonight.

I bought the Hero DVD last month and saw it in the theater last weekend. Good flick. Very pleasing. Definitely see it in the theater.

The rumor could be true. I saw Bill Burke once when he was removing some stuff from his roof rack. He had his arms up and his sleeves naturally pulled down. I could swear I saw a dragon and a tiger burned into his forearms.

no gun, no horse, no equal

hmmm, does that mean that the horse has a vibration problem at speed?

Man, it's been a long week. I think I'm ready for a kung fu weekend.

amazon, baby

I just searched amazon but I couldn't find it. The seller was edaymovie.com, email contact was amazon@edaymovie.com.

Paid $7.47 with shipping. If you can find it, get the 108 minute full version (vs. the 90 or so minute cut version).

I watched Hero last night. Very good movie. I liked Crouching Tiger better, but Hero is excellent.

I just checked Amazon and it turns out Kung Fu: The Complete Third Season is now available. Of course I just had to order it. Should arrive in about a week or so.

"I heard the silence, Master. I felt my whole being diffuse like a cloud. Then rain fell from the sky through me. I was part of everything, yet I was myself." - Caine

"You have experienced oneness." - Master Kan

"Yes, Master. But in this great joy I felt as if I was dying. That is what frightened me." - Caine

"You know the lesson of the silkworm?" - Master Kan

"The silkworm dies; the moth lives. Yet they are not two separate beings but one and the same." - Caine

"It is the same with man. His false beliefs must die so that he may know the joy of The Way. What you felt in the silence was real. Something in you is dying--it is called ignorance." - Master Kan

I'd definitely be up for some dim.
