my holy grail watch

http://forums.timezone.com/index.php...53472&rid=1069

For your amusement: was trolling thru TZ, came across one of my all time favorite old watches, pretty cool piece of work. One of these days...

yea, it's different, has the things I look for: simplicity, clarity, no frivolous pieces...
Old school.

forgot to ask

The mac tie downs: I'm looking at those and assume that installation in the rear bed of the rrc should include the cutout in the carpet and pad? I assume that it would be advisable to have them down on the metal deck, not floating up on the carpet?

Ooh la la. Very nice.

But your watch seems to be running a little fast. You might want to have that thing serviced.

Ho, I like the gold. Although I do like the gold better with a blue face and bezel. Here's my dad's submariner. Sorry my camera really sucks.

that's a lot of gold... bling bling...

the GMT's are my favorite though i like the GMT I better. The most incredible fact is that these watches keep their value for many generations to come. i feel fortunate to own it and glad to know that my kids and their kids and on... will be able to enjoy it as well.

wouldn't mind owning a speedmaster though...

cost of speedys continue to drop...

http://forums.timezone.com/index.php...58551&rid=1069

These have been dropping for some time now: got mine on TZ earlier in the year: a bit lower than this one.

Han, I'm with you. I think you're watch is the coolest out there. I like my dads too, but it is a little BLING. It's not as bad as a his midlife crisis President with Diamonds and Rubys all over the place.

That Speedmaster is pretty awesome too. Someday when I have money burning a hole in my pocket.

All of these pretty watches.... THis one has been on my wrist for a few years (And the only one to survive that long by the way) through my every day use. Every day use could entail welding , wrenching , welding , hunting , fishing , wheeling , welding and countless other tasks that just beat the living shit out of a watch. I am willing to bet the price of the watch that the moon watch would not make it that far on my wrist every day. The welding ussually kills them within weeks , this one doesnt look bad at all , although for some reason the slag sticks to the band so it has little slag balls stuck to it here and there. The crystal and the bezel have literally been covered with slag and burn off to the point that you couldnt read what time it was. I simply wiped it off and kept rolling... I guess the moon watch might be nice if I was going to the moon , but , I am firmly grounded...

I don't think the Moon Watch would last at all. Slag would melt right through the plastic crystal like a hot knife through butta.

Cool

Ya know Blue , I ussually wouldnt , but that damn watch has suprised me. It has staples holding the band together from getting ripped off my hand about a million times but it still keeps rolling and still doesnt look bad for the abuse.. I cant say shit about how the others work aside from having a couple fancy watches myself and they seem to tell time well enough..

Kyle
