How 'bout a pic of the oil filler cap? A lug nut? And a pic of the passenger side air bag warning badge?

That is awesome. I drove an LR3 for about a week a while back while my G4 was in the shop....it kicked ass. Totally changed my impression of it. Extremely impressed!

Now if I could just convince my wife we need to dump her 00 DII for one

I'm digging the LR3 now. The winch changes everything. The LR3 winch basket is super sweet.

How 'bout a pic of the LR3 all the way down... next to a pic with the LR3 all the way up.

And a question... if the LR3 sus is at it's highest setting, does it still have any articulation?

Me in an LR3? Before it was out of the question. Now I'm not so sure. The LR3 is definitely growing on me. I think a stocker-like LR3 with Safety Devices roof rack (which SD is currently working on), rear ladder, and LR winch kit would make for a very sweet vehicle. The rear of the LR3 is the ugliest portion of it, but the rear ladder makes a huge difference and makes the rear palatable. The LR winch kit is just so right on this vehicle, and I'm guessing the Safety Devices roof rack will be super nice as well. Add some nice tires, some Genuine rubber floor mats, and some communications equipment and the major stuff is basically done. All that would remain would be the little personal tweaks.

Such an LR3 would be low around town and drive nicely on the roads. With the adjustable air suspension, locking diffs, and traction control, the LR3 would smoke any other stock Rover on the trail. One could add the roof rack and winch and lots of cargo without sagging the suspension at all. Overall, it's just a very appealing concept.

The primary concern would be, of course, the LR3's field reliability. Time will tell on that one.

Here are some more pics of the LR winch kit:

Note how the bumper has to be cut so that the winch and basket can tuck into the bumper area. The result is super nice but it takes a tremendous amount of cutting and fitting to make it look good. You also have to disassemble the front of the vehicle. Here's what the vehicle looked like during the work:

Installing the LR winch kit and making everything fit correctly takes a very long time. Ho and I started at noon had to pull an all nighter to finish the job. I haven't done that since college 13 years ago. I was so tired in the morning when I was putting the tools away that I didn't realize I had too many drawers open on the KRL and this happened:

But we finished the install and the customer was happy, so everyone was happy.
