I am happy to see the Super Moto HP2 because it means that BMW will indeed continue HP2 production past the initial 500 bikes.

At least that is what I hope it means.

The Megamoto;

That Megamoto isn't doing it for me.

The HP2 is very sweet. I sometimes feel it calling me, but i just cannot see where i'd get any use from it.

I wouldn't want to tour, two-up, with it. I wouldn't want to ride it on the Michigan trail system, where i ride my KTM. Maybe i could do the Sunday morning, half-day, dual sport rides with it and admire it from time to time.

What a waste that would be.

The MegaMoto doesn't do it for me either.

The fact that BMW is continuing production of the HP line means to me that there will be more variations in the future and more aftermarket parts.

The HP2 with 5-6 gals, a very minimal fairing and soft luggage would be a very very sweet dual sport bike.

Agreed. The new MegaMoto looks like BMW hired one of KTMs former designers.

It would be.

And it would be much more pleasant than the 12ADV offroad, at least for the less-than-Jimmy-Lewis guys like myself.

LOL.

OK Aaron, now is your chance-

Malcolm Smith has 3 HP2's selling for below MSRP for next 3 days only (Grand Opening of new store is tomorrow).

Now ONLY $16,998 ea. (MSRP $19,990)

Just in time for the Baja 1000 next Wednesday.

You did register didn't you?

You can also donate $5 to charity and get a ticket to win Glen Heggsted's original F650 GS that he rode on his journey around the world. The bike is on display in the store.

BTW-all the new 2007 street-legal KTM 450 and 525 EXC's already have deposits on them. They are taking back up names but won't let you ride them. There's a sweet new 625 SXC LC4 still available though.

SoCal BMW dealers group gave Glen the bike that's nice that the $ is going to charity.

I need to wait another year or two before I get another bike. Thanks for tempting me though.
