Clay Target Day In July?

I was thinking it would be fun if several of us Rover guys got together for a day of clay target shooting sometime in July. I was thinking a Sunday in July, like 07/03/05, 07/10/05, or 07/17/05 might be good. (07/03/05 is probably a bad date but I'm free on that day so I thought I would throw it out.)

One possible venue would be Triple B Clays, which has a lot of different clay games, including American Skeet, American Trap, Double Trap, Sporting Clays, and Five Stand (basically sporting clays played on a standrad skeet/trap field). Triple B also has the Olympic-class games like International Skeet and Olympic Bunker if you guys think you're worthy. (The international targets fly considerably faster and feature a harder construction than the standard American clays. Olympic Bunker also is widely considered to be the most difficult of all of the clay games, even though it's shot high gun.)

I thought a "perfect" day at Triple B would be something like a round of American Trap, one round of American Skeet, and then 50 targets on the Sporting Clays course (and the course at Triple B is excellent) for a total of 100 targets. Then, those who wanted to shoot more after that could hit the various other fields and shoot some more.

Another very suitable venue is Moore-N-Moore, which has a superb Sporting Clays course, Wobble Trap (like American trap but the trap features vertical as well as lateral dispersion and the targets fly faster), and Five Stand. We could do a round of Five Stand, a round of Wobble Trap, and a 50-shot round of Sporting Clays. Then, those who wanted to shoot more could do so.

Moore-N-Moore is also right next to Angeles Shooting Ranges if someone had the itch for rifles and pistols.

Is anyone up for a day of clay target shooting in July? Jack? Greg? McFatty? (I don't even have to ask if Aaron wants to shoot. LOL).

OK, just spoke to Jack. Let's make it 07/10/05 @ Triple B Clays.

Greg, do think you can make it?

Don't worry! There will be many "next times"!

I was at M-n-M last night, they have rearranged the throwers and the stations again. It is fantastic!

Greg, that sucks that you can't make it. If your schedule changes for whatever reason, please come.

Let's meet at Triple B at noon. If you guys are a little late, that's no problem either, as the guys who show up at noon can play around on the skeet field until you come. Then we can hit the sporting clays field.

That's too bad about the 686. Oh well, we'll just have to do another group shoot. Aaron and I shot at Moore N Moore last weekend and it was just awesome. The target presentations are just so sweet right now, much more varied than they are at Triple B. Tower shots, springing teals, rabbits, minis, midis, and on and on.

For Triple B this weekend, let's meet there at 9:00 a.m. I think a fun way to shoot at Triple B is to shoot two rounds of Skeet and then head over to the Sporting Clays field.

Bring lots of ammunition.

Yeah, bring lots of ammunition. I think at least one flat, just in case.

Here's Triple B's website:

http://www.triplebclays.com/

The site has a map and address.

Let's meet there this Sunday @ 9:00 a.m. Bring your gun, lots of ammunition, and your A Game.

Thanks for coming out, guys. I had a really good time.

I did shoot two more rounds of skeet after I grabbed lunch. I probably shouldn't have. I was really tired. Station 8 was a disaster on both rounds. I was tired enough that it was really hard to react.
