Unique Mars Watches

While OMEGA fans are already referring to the OMEGA Speedmaster X-33 as the "Mars Watch", that reference may not be warranted. David Woo just forward me this very interesting link from the JPL site:

http://marsrovers.jpl.nasa.gov/spotl..._20040108.html

That's really cool. Perhaps OMEGA has to design an X-333, with local time, Greenwich Mean Time, Mission Time, and MARS TIME. That would truly be the "Mars Watch".

Space tools

Now if that tool had flown, there would be a whole group of space enthusiasts after it. Just think, a flown set of Snap-on tools, cool idea

I wonder if Garo Anserlian is tweaking OMEGA watches or some other other watch. God forbid he he should be tweaking some TAG or Breitling. That would not be good.

mars watches

Just found out what movements were used: Seiko, Citizen and Orient. The Orient was the only mechanical movement used.
They are now available, $200 - $500, depending on which one. 1,000 were made, they come with a certificate and are engraved on the back.

Suddenly, these are less interesting.

Yeah, it doesn't have quite the same appeal, does it?
