Here comes Santa Claus

Well, for the first time in about 30 years my father will own a gun after christmas...

1952 Winchester Model 12 with 28" bbls fixed choke modified no rib take-down.

of course I bought it yesterday and since most shops (including the one I bought from) effectively use an 11 day wait, I won't have it for christmas.
bummer.

so I got a box of these:

from the same vintage to put under the tree.

That's the reason for the purchase.
The model 12 presented itself as a good all-around'er for both upland and waterfowl.
He's shot my doubles and it was just too weird for him, so American pump it is.
I think he's interested in getting one or more of his dogs in the field as well.

Finally picked up that Winchester M12 pump. Does anyone one have any recommendations on a takedown case? Also the original buttplate was removed, and the stock modified with a recoil pad. The pad is quite old so I would like to replace it. Thanks.
