You were up there ranked in the low 80s with 95% if I recall correctly.

If anyone out there is contemplating taking getting his amateur license, it's far from too late. You can see that studying diligently on hamtestonline has taken newbies like Ho and Bruno to technician level after only a few days of studying. Craig, Aaron, and I are basically ready for element 3 after the same amount of studying. The test isn't until February 25, so there's still plenty of time to start studying and come with us that day.

Jack, Dave Woo, Larry, Kelly, would you guys be interested in coming out with us on the 25th? It's not even close to being too late to begin studying now and get your tech tickets.

Dave Lara will attempt his general that day too. Thus far I think the count is something like a dozen or so guys who will go to TRW that day. If we had 20 or so, it would be even cooler.

If anyone is on the fence, now is the time to jump in.

But... do yourself a favor and try hametestonline.com! I studied for the tech exam using the Gordon West book. I barely passed. And it took a lot more time and effort to do it. I am now using the on line test/study guide. After only about 1.5 hours of study I am within a couple correct answers of passing.

Just to add to the dork factor, here's an Icom promotional video on the ARRL and "Extreme Radio Sport":

http://fp8.adhost.com/icomamerica/IRN_2_full.wmv

Note that the ARRL director refers to Hiram Maxim simply as "an inventor". He was surely that, but isn't Maxim best known for his inventing the machinegun? Shouldn't the response be, "Maxim was an inventor. He invented the machinegun"?

"Who was Hiram Maxim?"
"He was an inventor."

That's sort of like asking, "Who was Alexander Graham Bell?"
"He was an inventor."

"Who was Guglielmo Marconi?"
"He was an inventor."

"Who was Richard Gatling?"
"He was an inventor."

LOL.

The vid is very very sweet.

But I am a little scared as to where this could be leading.
