Luminox Watch Battery

According to my Luminox watch, it has been 9:15 for 2 days.

Obviously, I need a new battery.

According to the documentation, the battery must be replaced by their service center to protect the warranty. I'm well out of the one year warranty, but still within the 10 year traser illumination warranty.

The thought of waiting for 2-4 weeks for it to be returned (according to the documentation) is not appealing because I rely on my watch 24/7. (now I'm wishing I could afford to buy a back up Luminox)

Have any of you ever replaced the battery yourself or had a local jeweler replace it? I'd like to try that if that's a possibility, otherwise I suppose I'll just have to ship it out to them and wait.

Thanks in advance Jamie

I say just get the battery changed at a local jeweler, so long as the shop is reputable.

Take it to Brasil.
I hear that's where the best watch servicing is performed.

Jamie,

What did you end up doing with your Luminox?

Mine is dead as well....

Don't mind mailing it off but would rather get it changed at a local watch dealer if possilbe.

Thanks

Hill, you live in Atlanta right? Go to Womble Watch Works, off Delk Rd. Great shop, very professional. I believe he is an authorized Tissot repair shop, but works on anything. He pressure tests all diving watches after battery replacement as they should be, unlike mall jewelers.

Has anyone else had a problem with the rotating bezel coming off?

I have the airforce version but I doubt that would make a difference.
