Maybe I'm too old. The Ferrari RC cars do nothing for me.

I'm digging this:

1962 was a great year too.

I'm definitely too old. And yet the Ferrari RCs definitely do something for me. Check out this 1/10th scale Ferrari F1 car:

That looks like a lot of fun.

tunning is very fun. the suspension geometry and technology of materials used on these little things still amaze me. building a highly detailed shell is probably half the fun. the other half is actually tunning and setting it up.

i don't think you are ever too old for this...

Soon I may have some airsoft guns and those degenerate video games as well. Time will tell.

This is a very sweet show on how Ferrari builds the 599 GTB:

John, airsoft? I have a few. They're no doubt interesting, but I really wish I had the real thing.

Airsoft?

That's so lame. Get some real guns. Unlike a Ferrari, real guns don't cost a hundred grand or more. They're cheap and available.

"SuperCars Exposed" on SPEED tonight has a throw down that includes the F-430 and 997. They also toss in a Lotus. Not a bad show....worth watching. The Lotus held its own in this test, surprisingly.

Should still be able to catch it later tonight on the left coast.

Those car collections are not unlike gun collections. Oftentimes, you will see a gun collection that is just super sweet. Most times, you see some really nice pieces that would otherwise be super sweet, but the collections are messed up by the presence of one more lesser pieces. These "lesser" pieces don't add; they merely take away from the overall greatness.

Take, for example, this collection:

Now, far be it from me to poo-poo that collection. I certainly can't afford such a collection, let alone a single piece of it. But to me that collection looks horrible. That red Carrera GT and GT40 look like shit compared to that Enzo. The all-red theme is lame. And that 430 Spyder looks gay. It's the ultimate mid-life crisis mobile for someone who thinks he's too good for the Corvette.

I think this 360 looks awful too:

It looks to me as if homeboy lowered it. And he slapped on some pimp daddy chrome rims and tinted the windows dark. I'm guessing he also tinted the tail lights, although they're not visible in the pic. That car looks horrible.

I think this collection also looks horrible:

This is an example of starting with the right ingredients but ending up with shit. Homeboy's collection includes what appears to be a 288 GTO, Enzo, and F40. And is that car at the end a 250 GTO? Holy shit. He's got the nice stuff. And then that hideous F50 is in there. EEEK.

I think his garage looks terrible as well. It looks like some wannabe museum. The place has all of the charm of a Donald Trump casino. These Ferraris are undoubtedly works of art, but they are first and foremost cars. They're not artifacts. Treat them like cars. For example, this still looks like a garage and not a Trump casino:

This one has potential:

Just sell the two piles on the left and he'll be stylin big time.

That last driveway is the same as the first driveway minus the German and American.

Yeah, I was thinking about that. I wonder if all of these cars belong to the same guy or if they're from some Ferrari club meet or something.

As far I as I can tell from the pics, the Enzo and what appears to be a 575 Maranello are in both pics.

The two spyders are actually different cars, although they look equally lame. The first pic has a 430 and the second pic has a 360.

I find that picture funny.

If in fact these are all one owners and they belong in that house. The garages that precede it in John's post make sense, they are large enough to showcase a collection. This guy has a two car garage. To me, while in a different demographic, is the same as a brand new Cadillac Escalade in front of some shanty in the bad part of town.

Although, if it is a group or club, I still think it's funny that no one could park on the street.

Holy shit guys.
You're never gonna believe this...
but I just saw Michael Shumacher at Starbucks!!!

I mean obviously that is a super authentic actual Ferrari factory racing jacket that could only belong to Mikey himself. It's not like they would sell his jacket to somebody else.

What are the odds?!

Finally got it yesterday. It was worth the wait though. This thing is sweet.

I gotta stop by Hobby People or something and pick up a battery and charger.

I just ran the FXX around our rear parking lot, and this thing is way too fast for my rookie hands. I almost crashed it a few times.

This could get ugly.
