Fedco? That brings back memories. I used to enjoy seeing what they had in their cutlery department. Years ago I saw a Boker ceramic for the first time there along side their usual crap Rambo selection.

Nipples in a cup.

Just lovely.

I always knew boba was a degenerate drink.

I've always found it to be interesting how some of the threads depart from the original discussions....all good as I like boobies my self...er I mean boba's

Anyway I've only been reading a few postings on this thread since it started and over the weekend I finally read thruogh the whole thing. Based on all the history, pics, links and opinions shared I've narrowed it down to the GMT. I discussed it with my better half and officially got the green light, hopefully the piece will fit nicely on my wrist.

But I have to admit that the Omega PO and/or Aqua Terra is still calling my name.... ah desicions.

Al, that is kick ass.

I'll probably get my Pepsi next weekend. If you want to go, let's do it.

Saturday I've got soccer games in the morning and I'm free in the afternoon, Sunday I'm tied up all day. When were you thinking of going? Perhaps Saturday afternoon and follow it up with BBQ dinner in K town?

Speaking of Sunday...Aaron are you still up for a ride in the morning?

Sat 9/23 I'm out. It had slipped my mind that it is Rosh Hashanah, I will be busy all day.

I too finally read through this whole discussion and although I cannot get a watch right now, I have decided to forgo the Sub-Date (as my dad has one that he will be passing along to me, Hopefully not for a very long time) and opt for an Omega Speedmaster, as I feel haveing two Rolexes would be to much for me. It sounds like I could pay for a plane ticket to LA to buy my watch based on the k-town pricing you guys are talking about.

My wife and I have been married for 15 years and our wedding bands wore out so I conviced her that a watch would be a better choice for me to replace the wedding band

How do you wear out a wedding band? (I've got 7 years on mine.)

Well for me my fingers got fat...LOL. I remember when shopping for wedding bands I tried to convincing my soon to be wife that a nice watch would be better than getting me a ring...hehe. Of course she didn't buy it, but now she realizes that a nice watch would sit nicely on my wrist

I did promise her that I would visit the jeweler in Santa Monica to resize the ring for me. I'm not getting it polished though as I like the scratches on it, it adds character to the ring.

That makes sense. I have really big knuckles, so by the time a ring gets over them it is large on my finger.

Agreed. I have never had mine re-brushed.

Work in a shop for 15 years with abrasive stuff like sandpaper and such with a delicately woven ring.

The new ring Jan wants is @ 3k each so the watch is a fair trade

Al, Greg, Won, Aaron, and other suckers:

How about Saturday the 30th for Rolex day?

I just realized this saturday we have a TJM and X9 install, so this Saturday is bad for me.

Aaron can't make this weekend.

This weekend is Ryder Cup.

Everything is pointing to the 30th. I was thinking we could meet here at the shop and leave for Koreatown at around 2:00 or 3:00. If you have time, we can eat some Korean food afterward.

Hope you guys can make it.

I am out for 30th.....

I have a shoot starting 28th. Maybe I can breakaway for a hour or so if I am in L.A. ... but I doubt it. Most likely, I will be in NY.

Man~ with Al jumping on the bandwagon, it may even qualify for a group buy. haha

I saw one the other day. It is a good looking watch.

I need to see the all black Sub. And maybe the Explorer again.

My brother and I were chatting over the weekend on the flight back from Vegas, and he said something that got me thinking last night. I told him about my desire for a GMT2. He said, "Get the Sub. If you get a GMT, you'll never get the Sub because the Sub and GMT are so similar."

That was his insightful way of saying, "Don't fuck with the Sub." Now, I don't know if he's correct or not, but what he says has a lot of validity.

I grew up lusting after three watches:

(1) OMEGA Speedmaster Professional:

(2) Rolex Submariner Date:

(3) TAG Monaco:

Perhaps in my desire for Old School Ugly with the Jubilant Pepsi, I lost sight of those three. If I were to get the Jubilant Pepsi on the 30th, I might end up pulling the trigger on a Monaco instead of a Sub for my third watch. If I were to get a Sub for my third watch, I would have three almost-identical watches. I can certainly live with those three watches, but I can't help but wonder if my brother was right when he predicted I would never get my Sub. (I'm already digging the idea of the Speedy, Jubilant Pepsi, and Monaco Trio; basically all three are funky/ugly.)

I'll have to sleep on this one.

I've always loved the Monaco.

As my first watch, however, I want more of a sport watch.
