This guy has a couple other Rovers too. I wonder why he's selling?

should not have painted the a, b, and c pillars. Took away the "floating" roof which is a RR design feature.

Are you sure they were they blacked out way back then? I thought at least the A & C were painted (based on random pictures I've seen).

edit: meant to say at least A & B pillars were painted

The ad, which their stupid site won't let me link directly to, said that he was selling this because of a recently purchased Camel Trophy Disco. Personally, I'd rather have this thing. It's beautiful.

I had recently considered changing the focus of my Rover lust from a 90 to the old-school Range Rovers.

Those pics have pushed me over the fence; and I am just fine with that.

Blue- I stand corrected. Looks like the " floating roof" design feature didn't actually start until the 80's models. I must say I prefer the black to the painted.

Yeah, that photo of the red Rangie from the rear is a little much. I'm really diggin the sand-brown '72 though, even with the painted C's.

I am also feeling the old school Rangie love. Last night my wife & I watched 50 Dead Men Walking and there was plenty of 1970's & 80's RR and Defender action. They had a nice mid-80's black RR transporting weapons and I told my wife that we'd eventually have one in the driveway. She rolled her eyes and said "Great....." Unfortunately I couldn't quite tell if the pillars were painted or not because it was black.

My Dentist has that poster, framed, in the hallway of his office.

I've got that poster rolled up in a tube sitting in the back of a closet.

I was surfing through some old pics and this one caught my eye:

I don't remember seeing sandglow Rostyles before. This vehicle obviously has had its tires replaced over the years, so I wasn't sure.

But I just googled for "Camel Trophy Range Rover" and there were several pics of Camel Trophy Rangies with the sandglow Rostyles.

So who knows.

check out that bumper though, it's actually two bumpers stacked up with bars welded between them. No excuse.

That Rangie is the ultimate turd. It's got snorkel thread written all over it in numerous ways.

But it's still awesome.
