I'm going to have to look into to Soju. My in-laws are coming in town today, so I'll need to self-medicate for the next 2 weeks. I already bought some cachaca, but one bottle of booze isn't going to last very long, I fear.

I was cracking up when soju got trendy. That's some nasty shit.

I was skimming through a magazine at the barber shop once and the article said something to the effect of, "Move over sake, now there's soju."

I was rolling.

The Cha-pagetti looks a lot like the peking noodle I get from my favorite place here in Chicago.

I've just started drinking sake in the last 6 months. Usually I use sake for cooking purposes, but one day I got desperate for alcohol and saw the sake in the fridge.

I'll have to give soju a shot and see how nasty it is. It sounds like grappa. I think the old Italian guys drink it because its made in Italy & not because of the taste. That stuff is expensive as hell and tastes like rubbing alcohol.

I did a shot when Ho cooked his K-BBQ, I figured it was appropriate for the whole Korean theme. One shot was enough for me, I can at least say I have tried it.

Ho, you still drinking that poison?? bah

The one nice thing about my father in law getting older is that I now only have to share 1 bottle of soju with him. There is no joy quite like enduring through liquor.

I think it's the Korean equivalent of "Dr. Vision".

Member that time I ate that toast at the Steelers game? I had sneaked in a bottle of grape MD in what appeared to be a pair of binoculars, but as you know, if you unscrew the eye piece they are hollow and filled with delicious grade MD. I was so rocked that night. I think that's when I picked up the hepatitis.

Jay Allen turned me onto this site:

http://www.rameniac.com/resource/com...m_shin_ramyun/

Homeboy actually has some upper division stuff going on with the Shin Bowl:

That's looking good. I'm digging the addition of the egg. I always put the egg into my ramen, but I've never done it with the bowl variety of ramen. Now I must try it. Add some Spam for good measure.

I do, however, take offense at his "Top 10 Ramen Shops in Los Angeles:

http://www.rameniac.com/index/commen...ramen_roundup/

He's got to be kidding, right? Hakata Shin-Sen-Gumi in Gardena is number five? This place sucks. And the place is bullshit. The place takes credit cards. A real deal ramen joint takes cash only.

I can't believe Ramenya isn't even in the top 10. Perhaps homeboy hasn't hit Ramenya yet? Ramenya is my favorite.

Shin Bowls are pretty good. We buy them at Smart & Final by the case, to have around the office for a quick cheap snack. The egg looks pretty good.

We received a mystery package from Virginia. A return address was listed but no sender's name.

I thought it might be a bomb, but the box's contents were much more palatable:

Compliments of Dan Chapman.

Thank you, Dan.

Picked up some Shin Ramyen at the local int'l supermarket...that stuff is great for a cheap snack. I love spicy food so it's pretty addictive as it's pretty damn hot. They didn't have the Shin Bowls, but I'll try those next.
Thanks for the recommendations.
