The light emitted from the 27LED's not blinding in nature. The LED's do not produce a focused beam of light that reflects back in your face. Rather, the light emitted floods the immediate work area and let's you focus on your work.

The hexagonal head shape lets the user direct the light output in whatever direction he wishes, as well as prevents the Freedom-Lite from rolling away when set down on inclines. The rubber handle and hexagonal head prevent the Freedom-Lite from scratching work surfaces and provide a firm grip even with greasy hands.
The Freedom-Lite comes standard with a smart charger. Only one hour is required to charge the battery completely.
To recharge the Freedom-Lite, simply plug the charger's cord into the Freedom-Lite's base. The "smart-charge" feature also lets you keep your Freedom-Lite plugged in when not in use without fear of damaging the battery.

A Hella light that is similar in concept to the Freedom-Lite and provides provides great utility is the Hella 3003 ACCU Rechargeable Hazard/Work Lamp. The 3003 ACCU is stored inside your vehicle and uses the vehicle's electrical system to recharge the unit and keep it fully charged for emergency use.
The 3003 ACCU features legs that splay outward to provide a wide and secure contact with the ground. The wide footing combined with the heavy weight of this unit prevent the unit from being tipped by the wake of vehicles passing by at high speeds. Unlike the Freedom-Lite, the 3003 ACCU cannot be hung over work areas.
This combination hazard/work lamp features both amber and white lights to suit different purposes. The amber light produces flashing light and can be seen up to two miles away. The white light is a constant-on light used to illuminate roadside or trail repairs. The 3003 ACCU complies with German road traffic regulations (StVZO, paragraph 53 a) that requires all stationary vehicles to be equipped with a hazard flasher lamp to maximize safety to motorists. The unit can be set to emit a flashing amber light for for up to 40 hours to warn other motorists or a constant-on white light for up to seven hours.
